    All,
Have decided to press the AR into primary HD long gun as the boss shoots it better.....way better. She loves the thing and now hates the shotgun. Go figure.

That decision has led me to decide that I need to remove the 1-4 optic that I love for outdoor shooting and move into an aimpoint pro.

I have found them used on ebay for $350

    New everywhere for $400ish

I have found a demo model for $370 using a 5% cupon on optics planet.

My question is new, used, or demo? I wonder what sort of use a demo model may have seen? Any experience on these folks?

    Regards, GMB

These things used to be had for $350 new, all the time.

I would definitely stay away from used ebay, to much risk.

My advice, the chances of her ever using it for home defense are slim to none so just leave the 1x4 on 1x and she can adapt on the one and a million chance she'll ever need it.

Or if you just want the Aimpoint just because, then just buy a new one from a known, trusted vendor.

I just picked up a PRO from LaPolice Gear for $366 at Easter. Watch for sales and get a new one.

Ebay has a high probability of a fake, even for someone like me (who used to sell them) since you only get so many pictures.

A demo wouldn't be bad, as they're fairly unbreakable, but $370 isn't enough off, they can be (at times) found new for that price.

Get a new Aimpoint PRO and call it a day.

I love my PRO. I don't like to take much risk when it comes to my rifles and parts so I'd buy new from a reputable vendor. FWIW, I buy very few products used.

I would buy new, the savings is negligible compared to the potential hassle. The PRO is a great sight, I love mine.

PSA has them and if you use the 10% off code they are offering right now, that would put you under $400.

I'd be careful of the ones on Ebay. Counterfeits are all over the place.

Oops alligator beat me to the punchline. Yeah stay away from used optics on eBay. Eotechs are definitely counterfeited, not sure about aimpoint. If they are shipping from say china or Zimbabwe, be wary.

I picked one up on armslist.com. It was technically used, but the guy never even put the batteries in it. The seller decided to go with the Acog after he trained with one in the Army. My department uses the Aimpoint Pro and so far zero issues with them. I have been debating picking up a magnifier.
