Hello forum! Glad to be a part of this.... and what brought me here has been asked, hashed, debated and argued for years I am sure.

I am a 9mm kinda guy and am debating between the G17 and the G34. Concealment is not an issue as I open carry as much as CC.

Then within this debate we have the GEN 3 and GEN 4 issues.... and the RTF versus standard...I have tried to search some, and it appears we all agree to disagree.

    I found a sweet Gen 3, G17 20th anniversary edition NIB and also a used (300 rounds) Gen 3 G34 with (3) 17 round mags.

SO as I open the floodgates, I await your never ending knowledge..

Both would be great guns to have, just depends on your personal preference on which one you like better.

I have a G17 and G34. If I had known then what I know after having both, I would have two G34s and no G17.

If I was going to carry it, I would go with the G17 for sure. The G34 is a GREAT gun, but it is a competition gun. It has a gigantic hole in the top of the slide to reduce slide weight. I can imagine all kinds of things getting down in there if you were packing it daily.

I'd go with the G34 but, that is just me.

They have the same mag size.

So next consider the slide length. For your uses would you prefer a longer or shorter slide.

All personal opinion, but I find the 17 to be well proportioned and balanced as a range gun that can be carried. Some guys say that about the 34. So, up to you :)

WELL not to my surprise.... our opinions are across the board.....:wow:
Having said that, what about the generations? Heard some issues with GEN 4 early.... now they have been addressed or can be addressed thru Glock.
And the RTF grips? AYE or NAY?:crying:
And if I missed something else on the classified section... is there not a GLOCK ONLY section? Or just click in a search for G7 for example.
Any opinions on that 20th anniversary edition? :dunno:
