is it worth it to pay for the full version of Ad-aware SE or is the free version sufficient?

I don't think the paid version is any better.Try SpySweeper. The trial version removes and deletes and the paid version works great.Spybot and A-Squared are good too.A-Squared is one of the best.CCleaner removes many things Ad-Aware does and does it much faster.A-Squared scan takes some time.Microsoft anti-spyware works great too.Yahoo Toolbar has a good scanner but it's not updated often.

I DL'd "A-Squared" last night (good thing I understand German as all instructions were in that language). Takes forever to do its job (31 minutes), and it left the same things that had been missed by SpyBot, Ad-Aware and CCleaner. The only really good feature was that it shows exactly which files are being examined. I think I'm going to dump it.

SpySweeper is best one I've used.Once had something that kept coming back with SpySweeper.I ran Microsoft anti-spyware and that got rid of it.
