I know those actors are notorious for not breaking character, but this is getting a little ridiculous.

Pretty stupid to use guns capable of firing live ammo.

Live rounds lead to dead bodies.

Wonder if the rein-actors insurance was canceled, and so were future reenactments? I am sure when all the people investigating what happened, some safety procedure was ignored, or was not followed.

It would be sad if this Tumbstone attraction that has gone on as long as I can recall has played their last show.

I hope we get an update after they investigate. I'm really curious about how this happened.

This happens occasionally in re-enactments. I wonder how a person with any firearm knowledge can make this kind of mistake. No ND's are acceptable here. Innocents are watching.

On the other hand, I wonder how a person that knows nothing about firearms can trust an "armorer" to load blanks. Who watches the Armorer.

    Lots of stupid here.

Better gun laws would have prevented this tragedy.

    What's the problem?
It was a shootout, not a blankout.

That was my first thought, glad I got to see it when I lived there. Some idiot ruins it for everyone.

Even blanks should be fired in a fairly safe direction with safe backstop, not at someone's head. No spectator should notice if you aim over or around your target.

I almost shot a guy myself there, a few years ago. Some of my family and I were there looking around the town. There are Cowboy Action types in costume and weapons with blanks all over the place, walking around.

I was walking down the boardwalk near the theater when one of the Cowboy Action types stepped out of a shop twenty feet or so behind me and lit off both barrels of a double-barrel shotgun. I spun and had my Kimber most of the way out of its holster before I realized who made the bangs. Luckily, no one saw me draw. Everyone was watching the CA guy with the shotgun.
