Following up on the post from last week regarding the
brass facial from my G17 Gen4.

I went to the St. Paul MN GSSF match yesterday, got
there early to visit the Glock Armorer before shooting the
matches. Mike the Armorer swapped out the ejector and
the RSA, on my G17, and swapped out the RSA for the
G30SF, which also has developed weak extraction. The
G17 ran with Glock Perfection while shooting the 2
divisions it competed in. The G30SF was still dribbling
cases on me, and the RSO next to me, during the different
courses of fire. So after the match, I headed back to the
armorer's table. Mike went through the pistol with a
fine tooth comb. Along with the previously replaced RSA,
he replaced the extractor, extractor depressor plunger
spring, and a new slide stop lever(unrelated) with a weak
spring. I didn't have the opportunity to test the G30SF
on site, but when I got home, I ran some mags of wimpy
target ammo through both pistols. The G17 made a pretty
pile of cases from about 3 o'clock to 5 o'clock...Perfection.
The first mag through the G30SF piled most of the cases
at 3-5 o'clock, but a couple of cases were at my feet.
On the following mags, all cases were piled about 3-4
feet out, from 3-5 o'clock...Close enough to perfection
    for me.

Thanks to Glock and GSSF for providing this service for
Glock owners...It is worth the membership. And I have to
tip my hat to Mike and Warren(Master Armorer) for the
time they took to go through my pistols, show me pistol
function, and to demonstrate trigger reset control
techniques. Well worth the 3 hours in the truck, and the
registration fee for the matches I participated in. And
once again I was pleasantly surprised by the open and
friendly behavior of the GSSF staff, the RSOs, and the
fellow competitors. Glock people are good people.

3-5 o'clock, "close enough to perfection". Yeah, unfortunately that's about the best one can expect from a Glock. I'd be thrilled to get that from my G4 19.

Sounds like its all working as it should be now... My 30SF throws the brass very far and I always have a hard time finding it... now my wifes Gen3 G19 throws brass in all directions LOL.. but not a problem with me..

Me too, I'd have no reason to ditch the platform. That said, other options out there (M&P, cough cough) that I trust will not give me any issues when buying new.

Squeeze, on the 30SF, is the new extractor dip or non-dip?

Notice how the problem was not user error.

Dip? Do you mean dipped in a finishing material?

The extractor they put in the pistol looks just like
the extractor that came out, minus a bunch of wear
on the surfaces. They let me keep the old extractor,
and the extractor depressor plunger spring, so I could
swap out each part to see which one contributed to
weak ejection. The spring, with the naked eye, looked
compressed, compared side by side with a new spring.
They were somewhat concerned about the wear on the
extractor, but my betting money would be on a weak
extractor depressor plunger spring. Maybe if I put the
extractor under a magnified inspection lamp, that opinion
may change. If I get some time to experiment, I will
swap out the parts, one at a time to determine which
part had the biggest contribution to weak ejection.

When I get a chance I will put the parts side by side for a
picture session. I have a bunch of alligators nipping at
my butt at the moment, so it may be a few days before
I can get to the experiment and pictures.

Just some background on this pistol: This one never had
the fabled FTRTB problem, of the early G30SFs. It also
had decent ejection patterns early in life. I have 2k-3k
rounds through the pistol, and about 500 rounds ago I
started noticing cases bouncing off my hat, shoulders, and
arms. It was getting worse quickly. With the parts swap,
it is back to my good old reliable G30SF.
