I bought a pound of it few years back and worked up a good, accurate .40 load for it. It's good powder.

I have shot a lot of AA5 out of my 9mm Glock's. In all fairness, I prefer Power Pistol (what I use now) but AA5 did me fine for thousands of rounds. All my experience with AA5 is with 115gr fjm bullets.

I use the Precision Delta 115gr fmj bullet seated to 1.130" in assorted cases with the Federal std primer. The load is 6.8gr of AA5. Velocity out of my G19 is 1095 fps. The Accurate book says this is a max load but I think that's with a bullet seated shorter (higher pressure). A friend of mine uses all the same components but loads 6.6gr of AA5 with equally good results. YMMV and all the safety precautions apply.

AA5 like most ball powders, throws like a dream. Never an issue.

I use it a lot in .40, have been very happy with it. Meters very consistently. I plan on trying it in 9mm next.

I think its a good powder, but always found something in its class I liked better. After my last 5 pounds I moved on to Universal and 3N37. When that's gone I guess I'll try some WSF and Silhouette.

I use it for regular .45ACP target loads. It does the job and gives me good accuracy with my cast slugs I use in my Glock 21 . I've learned from others here that it's not not meant for +P or real high powered rounds in most loadings.

I shoot mostly 124 grn jacketed. I chrono'd 1200 fps with 6.4 grns of AA-5 awhile back. I called it a maximum load. Pistol had a 4" bbl. There are a few powders that will push it slightly faster but those are mostly Vihtavouri and those are more expensive powders. Mostly I use Bullseye and Unique but AA-5 did work fine.

it's pretty dirty/smokey compared to some other powders, but accuracy is fine.

What load range? I find AA#5. like most med bunrers, works best above midrange, closer to the top end.
