    I was just listening to AC/CD Live at Castle Donnington when I saw this. I agree with Brian Johnson. If I go to a concert, I go to hear the band perform. And nothing else.

    Nothing against Bono. Looks like he at least attempts to use his fame for good. I don't think that makes great or anything and I still prefer a little AC/DC when I'm driving down the road.

    Totally agree. I go to concerts to hear the music, that's it. You start talking politics, religion, or anything else on stage and you have lost me as a fan.

    How's that story go?

    Bono: "in the time it takes me to tell this tale 15 kids will starve in Africa"

    Loud Fan: "Well, then shut up!"

    Because altruisim is nothing but empty, self serving narcisim. Bono and the like don't care about starving children or whatever the cause of the day is, if they did they'd have joined the Peace Corps or one something else to DIRECTLY address the problem. All they are doing is showing as many people as possible how great they are for doing so much to help the world so they can bask in the adoration that follows.

    I have to say I agree also. My wife and I give a good bit of our income to charity, but I don't tell people when we do it or tell them they should do it too.

    The other thing that ticks me off even more about the Bono and Geldoff types is that they would not for the world ever hint even remotely that the causes for most of the world's starving poor are corrupt, decadent cultures and corrupt, decadent politicians. They are good little politically-correct liberals, which means they will rail against the West without ceasing but will not say a word against a culture that encourages apathy and hatred or socialist tyrants that use the poor as political pawns.

    Altruism is what is destroying this world. For a better understanding of that reality I direct you to the works of Ayn Rand.

    As for Bono and his ilk I say: Show me, don't tell me.

    Go Brian, that's awesome:thumbsup:

    At a U2 concert , Bono asks the audience for some quiet.
    Then in the silence, he starts to slowly clap his hands.

    Holding the audience in total silence, he says into the microphone
    "Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies."

    A voice from near the front pierces the silence;
    "Well, stop clapping your damn hands then!":rofl::rofl:
