Absolutely crazy encounter with a mobile mechanic last night. Ended up drawing on this ***** and his 2 friends with him. Police sided with us. Insane.

So I have an issue with my starter, as we all know from my last post here.

Starter won. I dont have the right tools to do it after all. I was given a number by a random person on facebook that said to contact this person, they can probably come now.

So we agree on a time for him to come. 4:30 pm. 5pm arrives he still has not shown up or replied.

I text and let him know it's getting dark and he needs to get here soon or I will have to wait and do it tomorrow.

He has me call him and he (very excitedly) kept insisting he was on the way soon, he has lights and everything he needs to do it no matter how dark it is.

I reluctantly agreed and told him ok be here by 6 and I will see what your equipment is like and go from there.

6:45pm arrives, still no sign of him. I tell him it's too dark, I don't know you, you could be the best mechanic ever, or the worst. but I'm not risking my only vehicle in the dark to a complete stranger, and not to come.

30 minutes later I get a text saying he will be at my house in 4 minutes.

I replied and told him no, I told you not to come 30 minutes ago, I'm not comfortable with this at this point and you are not touching my car this late and I am not paying you anything just to show up and then leave when I tell you to go away.

He says, and I quote, "I'm still coming to your house."

I tell him dude, no, you're not. I don't know you, if you come here after specifically being told not to multiple times, you are going to have a very bad night.

2 minutes later I hear them pull up. I go outside with a beer in one hand, and tell them they wasted their time, I am not having it done. It's literally pitch black at this point. They start arguing. There are 3 of them for some reason.

I tell them to leave, they want to argue. I tell them it's not up for debate, leave now. They aren't moving and start getting more argumentative. I pulled out my FN with an extended mag and tell them again to leave. They start saying they will shoot me and they are calling the cops. I told them no, I am calling the cops right now, you better not be here when I come back outside.

By the time I went back out they were gone and the cops were there. Super professional the entire time. Told me if they come back just stay inside and call the cops and do what I need to do if they try to force their way inside.

As I was explaining everything to the officers, they kept calling and texting my phone until I blocked them while the police were watching me do so.

Nothing else happened, my car is still ****ed up today and the person went on facebook and started saying we came outside with a gun, completely ignoring to provide any of the details or messages that led up to this happening. Ended up just deactivating the account because it's not worth it.

Like I told the cops, all I want is to get my car fixed. But not by someone I've never met, don't even know their name, in the pitch black of night. Not happening. They all agreed.

Anyway. What a night. Ridiculous.

My best friend is a mechanic, fixes my stuff at home. The trust is invaluable.

I got my car fixed by someone today. Even he said he doesn't know wtf the people last night were trying to do. He got here at 2 pm. Didn't leave until 7 pm once it was fixed and confirmed to be fixed.

He is a cool dude. Ex military. We compared guns. He loved the FN I pulled on these morons last night and completely understood why I did.

His was underwhelming I guess, being ex-military, but like I told him, something is better than nothing.

He also said WTF did they even show up for, when you had told them multiple times not to come? You're not friends, you don't know each other. Why even show up?

I told him that's exactly my question. When they refused to leave while I asked them to nicely, I decided to ask them not so nicely.

Facebook recommendations of strangers . Beer in hand. Pulling a gun on three unarmed guys instead of simply going inside. No tools to remove a starter This whole story is lol. What trailer park did this happen in?

I would have stayed inside and called the police. But that's just me. I'm very happy it worked out well for you, and I'm happy nobody got shot.

Dude, you’re lucky you weren’t arrested. Pulling a gun on unarmed guys while under the influence of alcohol. Wow lol

You did everything wrong.

1st) Random hookup on FB.
2nd) Went outside.
3rd) Drinking while having a person come to work on your vehicle.
4th) Pulled a pistol.

After reading the whole thing I knew the comments were going to be gold. “So me, muh Keystone light 22ozer, and muh FN with the extended mag went outside”…….all that’s missing is a toothless hooker and this story would have been legendary.

Glad it all worked out OP!

Me, I would have drank my beer inside while on the phone with the police, drawn only if they try to get in my house, but that is just how I roll.

Certainly smells of a scam from them, glad you did not become a statistic.

South Carolina. If you pull the gun and don't pull the trigger, you weren't in reasonable fear for your life and thus had no reason to pull the gun. Per the instructors at cwp classes statewide. We were warned in class of probability of being charged for brandishing. Don't have my notes from class handy. They cited the law in the class.

Thats BS. You can pull your gun because you are in fear of serious bodily injury or death, and before you pull the trigger, the situation can change (subject turns tail and runs, drops weapon/dangerous instrument).
