I've come to the conclusion that what we now refer to as polls are no longer about gauging public perception and gathering voting data as much as they are about influencing public perception and influencing fence-sitters. Take this poll for example...

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/18/us/politics/latest-polls.html

This is from the New York Times, which was once a respected newspaper that had some journalistic integrity, which has completely disappeared. Now, in their latest poll, they have Trump trailing Biden by 14 points nationally. 14 points. That's beyond asinine, especially when Trump is tracking above 50 percent approval in the Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll and at an average of 87 percent approval among Republicans in the latest Pew tracking poll. Ford, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, both Bushs', and Obama never had as high of an average approval rating among their respective parties. The data is here...

Polls have become nothing more than propaganda...

    That's what it's always been.

Any form of statistical analysis is dependent on the integrity of the ones collecting, handling and analyzing the data.

You can make the poll say whatever you want it to say by selectively choosing your target audience.

    Or fudging the numbers.

    Or by just lying.

Because we have a demonic rat-like media that is hellbent on forcing their will - in fact, I'd call them political rapists.

Yep, had a whole class about that in school. Well, the class was about how NOT to lie with statistics by over/under sampling, breakpoints on charts, sampling sizes, locations and all kinds of biases.

It really is true that there are 3 kinds of lies in the world, lies, damn lies and statistics.

I don't listen to/pay any attention to polls. I've known for years that they were nothing more than doubt casters.

Statistics don't lie, but liars use statistics.

The slanted polls hurt the Democrats because they alway believe their own propaganda.

It happened in 2016 and they are repeating the same mistake.

    I'm not complaining.

No use having an election. The polls say Biden is going to win. Oh wait...didn't they say Hillary was going to win? Perhaps we should have the election after all. Political polls mean NOTHING other than what the poll takers want them to say. Hell I can take a poll asking if pedophilia should be legal and make the poll yes by a wide majority. All I have to do is go to a registered sex offender list and poll 1000 pedophiles then go and poll 500 people at random. Guess what the poll will say. We polled 1500 people. The poll shows that 66% (1000) of the 1500 people polled say pedophilia should be legal while only 33% (500) say it should not be legal. There you have it.
