Hi, new member, first post. :wavey: Just got an Advantage Arms conversion kit for my Glock 26... can't wait to shoot it. I was surprised by the announcement in the box not to use Federal ammo b/c it may not be reliable. Like alot of people I make good use of the 550 round packs from China Mart that used to be so cheap and plentiful. Have others really had a problem using Federal ammo in this gun? No big deal, I'll start off with Mini Mags, but still....

They say, "No Federal Ammo other than.....," so some Federal can be used. Also I use Remington Golden Bullets, as recommended by AA, 550 rd Bonus Pak at Wally World for $13.97.

I tried Federal ammunition through mine when I got it to see what would happen. My conclusion is that note is on there for a reason. The kit jammed up horrible almost every other round.

I found the two best ammunition types to use are Remington Golden Bullets and CCI Mini-Mags. If you have some Federal ammunition give it a spin and see if your results are the same as mine. Do note though that you really need to put a couple of hundred rounds through the kit before it starts functioning reliably no matter what ammunition you use.

Thanks for the tip, will do.

What came in mine doesn't recommend Federal (any), PMC (any), and Remingon Thunderbolts. Never seen value packs of Remington Golden Bullets at my Wally World, I'll keep an eye out for them. Thanks.

I got a brick of Golden Bullets at Academy. That Federal stuff is so bad, I got a bunch of misfires in my Marlin bolt action rifle.

I have tried the Federal ammo and had terrible jamming. I switched to CCI Mini Mags and have not had any problems. Good luck.

Fed Bulk Pak "automatch" is now on the yes list. Some Wal'marts and also Natchez carry it. I can't find it, but it's as cheap as the regular Fed Value Pak.

In my AA Kits(1911,G21,G23), all I have found that work well are Mini-Mags and Rem. G.B. although I have a few FTFire in the Rems.

I have tried a lot of others but have failures to extract with them and the rd. trying to feed gets bent.

My G23 Kit has 1,000's of rds. through it and I still get the same results.
My other kits have not been used as much but more than enough to break them in.

Mine ran just fine with the federal bulk packs - 99% reliable. The federal automatch has 325 rounds compared to the 550 of the regular bulk pack.

Yep! If you can find one. They are in short suppy. The same kit also fits the G19.

Unless you are lucky, the best way to get one is to order direct from AA and just wait.

My AAkit for the G-17 wouldonly function reliably with CCI MiniMags and Remington Golden. You have to put up with the ca 2to 4% ignition failures with the Remington Golden. I use the Remington Golden for practise and the CCI MiniMag for matches.

From AA Glock FAQ, "We do not recommend any Winchester ammo."
