I have a gen 4 26, with a AA 22 conversion.. I have googled the earths end for mods to help it run as close to 100% as possible. After some mods today I found that it would fire and eject Federal bulk packs ( short 5 rd test).
The extractor has been filed down on the outside so it stays in close contact with the barrel, it has been polished, I have done various mag mods.. All are suppose to help with reliability
Today I had a lot of fail to eject (with Cci mini mags) and when I look at the barrel, where the extractor meets the chamber/ barrel it looked like it had caused some part of the barrel to disform and cause the casing to stick in place. Using a round file I smoothed this area inside the chamber out an then slightly filed the edge where the extractor meets the chamber to it was tapered.
The extractor now has a small crevice to get a better grip on the rim of the case. I shot 2 mags of mini mags and half a mag of federal bulk and all ejected. The Federal would not cycle far enough back to lock the slide open though
Pics showing the modified extractor and the relief that the extractor now sits against
