Is either concept valid? A’ight, I’ma bout to step in it pretty good, but please don’t anyone blow a gasket, it’s somewhat tongue in cheek. Call me old fashioned, but I still think there are some things better handled by men, and other things better handled by women. For example, as head of the household, I manage the finances, and as a part of that responsibility, I decide what cars the wife and I drive. I also do the actual car buying. Yesterday, I take the mrs. to the dealership to checkout and test drive the car I’d picked out for her. Of course if she hated it, I’d go back to the drawing board, but thankfully she and I think alike, so that’s rarely a problem. Anyway, once she confirms she likes the car, I take over the buying process, do a deal, and hand her the keys. This is so normal to me that I don’t ever give it a second thought. But yesterday, I couldn’t help noticing another couple working with a salesperson at the desk over. In that scenario, the man was just sitting there while his wife attempted to conduct the business. I laughed a little to myself overhearing her being emotional in her “logic”, and eventually not closing a deal. All I could think was that poor salesman having to entertain such a twit, especially while the “man” in the relationship was sitting right there, all quiet. It was bizarro world. Anyway, that’s just one example of a job that I believe is man’s work. There are plenty of other tasks or scenarios that I believe are woman’s work. Agree? Disagree? Discuss. The water’s just fine here in the deep end.
