My parents have been married 65 yrs. My Dad married his high school sweetheart and they’ve been together ever since. Dad is about to lose her. She had a massive aneurysm in the brain that immediately flooded her brain and even damaged the brain stem. There is chance to recover and no operation. We’ve had to make some very difficult decisions. She’s in no pain but my Dad is. He goes through peaks and valleys while we wait by her bedside. I only ask for prayers for Dad. My Mom’s fate is sealed and her place in heaven awaits her. They got married when my mom graduated high school. My Dad enlisted and asked to go to Korea during the Korean War. In all the logic of the army, they sent him to Germany to serve as a deterrent from the soviets. And his MOS was EOD where he was tasked with difusing bombs from WWII. He’s a strong man but in great pain now. He has spoken of wanting to die now too and we keep reminding him that my mom would kick his ass and he has a lot to live for. That’s what she’d want. I have been by his side the whole time. Hardly slept since the initial incident. I’ve got to watch my mom and watch my dad. He has health issues and I’m having to watch that he does what he needs to do. I’m probably ranting from exhaustion and I apologize. But please keep my dad in your prayers.
