    Greetings All,

I just purchased this new Presario v2552us Notebook.

    http://www.compusa.com/adproducts/product_info.asp?product_code=336300&pfp=cat3

I have a couple of questions.

    1. On my home PC I run AVG free virus protection, MS Defender spyware and Zone Alarm fire wall. Do I need to run these on the laptop as well?

    2. If I want to buy more ram, is this the right one?
    http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50206549&pfp=BROWSE

    Can I install it myself?

    Thanks in advance.

If you feel the need to have that software on your desktop, you should use the same set of rules on a laptop. It MAY have come with some sort of suite that does similar things, but you wouldn't be wrong sticking with what you know for consistency's sake.

No, that isn't the right sort of RAM. If you insist on spending too much at CompUSA you'll need something like http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50261069&pfp=BROWSE or http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50577027&pfp=BROWSE depending on you brandname proclivities. Otherwise save yourself $20 and buy online. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...2407860+1052307857&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=381 You need 200pin, PC2700/DDR333, SO-DIMMs.

Yes, you can install it yourself, assuming you aren't a complete ham-handed moron. See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...roduct=1816342&lang=en&docname=c00035793#N370 for instructions.
