Does anyone else find that newer models of slow cookers heat up too much? Every model I've tried in the past ten years (and that's been several) had been 'way too hot, even on the lowest setting. No way could I leave something in there for eight hours, like I used to with the older pots. Conversely, I bought an expensive two-piece unit with a thermostat dial, and it wouldn't heat up beyond "warm." Sent it back and haven't tried another. What works for you? I need a fairly large-capacity type.
