    Hi folks,

I was wondering how I take a picture from my computer (taken with my digital camera) and turn it into an avatar for this site? Is there special software I need or something? Thanks!

Right click on your pic, OPEN with MS PAINT.

Click Image button, click stretch and skew. Reduce.

Save the new size, then upload to GT via user control panel.

Or... just use the attachment option here in your next reply/post, then one of us will resize/shrink it for you.

You can save those two little pics to your hard drive then upload them or you can use the URL's I gave you and pop them into the url WWW option.

Originally, I had saved the pics as PNGS but the file size was near 30KB and the file size limit is only 6KB. I changed them over to JPEGS. Also, the 100 by 100 pixels is just too tiny. I wish GT would allow 150 x 150.

The pic with the blue towel needs to contrast more.

These are the PNG versions they are better quality but the file size is too big, way over the 6KB limit. Sorry. These two will not be accepted/work.

The 100 x 100 limit is also very restrictive.

Maybe some other people here can take a better crack at it.

My skills are very basic and I don't even have photoshop.
