Samson Rail system (may be changing this soon)
Is the rail too heavy for you?
That's why I'm thinking of changing it. This one of the orginal SAmson rails, about 4 years old.
May Try a Troy since it also has the quick release cups already installed. I'll be looking at them at SHOT
I've always loved my Troys, but be aware that while they're much lighter than the old Samsons, they're still not feathers.
This rail is around 14 ounces, the Troy runs 11 ounces
Any savings is good
You might take a look at DD or LaRue.
I'm looking at the Yankee Hills Lightweight;
My Brownells catalog lists it at 10.2 ounces.
Yes I iknow, but DD and Larue require more work than the usual 2 piece styles. I already removed the delta ring, I may just get another Delta set and then the DD rail.
Ar's always look so wierd with the mag not in there.
I got the new Samson Star 4C or whatever it's called... didn't feel too bad.
I'm leaning towards a TROY. It has quick release mounts on the rail.
