A Glock20 possible to turn into a G22?

I am looking into getting a full size Glock. I was wondering if it were possible to actually have two guns in one.

Here is my possible unaccurate thought on it. I want the full size G22 15 rounds of .40 cal but I got to thinking after reading some posts that if I got a G20 15 rounds of 10mm I could possibly convert the G20 to a G22 with a .40 cal conversion barrel? Q1- Is this possible? Q2- What magazine would I need? Q3- Would the G22 mag work in the G20 or the other way around?

My angle for validation (if it is possible) is to satisfy my ego for the 10mm, increase in rounds the .40 cal and cheaper to shoot plus the possibility of getting two guns for one....Thoughts?

--------Second Question not related-----------------------

As I mentioned earlier I want the S&W 642 airweight for BUG/ .38 special. Now I checked out the weight between the 642 and the 640 (.357 and .38). Does the weight difference really make a difference for a bug? Again my ego getting in the way of things. With the 640 I can shoot the powerful .357 mag AND the .38 special. and because of my ego I get the feeling I can have best of both worlds instead of just the only option of the .38 in the 642.

So your thoughts on the weight difference between the two? Does it make a noticeable difference for a bug or not enough to justify NOT buying the 640?

Any serious input would be appreciated. If I have the Glock20 situation ass backwards kindly let me know. I am still learning. Thanks.

Yea its possible. That is why they make conversion barrels in .40S&W for the G20.

Use the G20 mags. G22 mags won't work in a G20.

Just for a challange, I did find some plastic, cut it to size, and use it as a shim inside the G20 mag with .40S&W ammo. (It really isn't necessary, I don't think anyone here has had a problem with the .40S&W ammo in their G20 mags.)

I like it! It may actually be a better idea than you think. The bullet may be under more control like this than it would be otherwise when being stripped into the chamber.

Okay so what you both are officially saying is if I buy a G20 I can drop a .40 cal conversion in it AND use the G20 mags and put .40 cal bullets for 15 rounds?
Sure can. The .40 rounds will only be about 1/8" shorter than the 10mm, otherwise, they're dimensionally the same. It will work fine.

.40 S&W
.400" diameter bullet
.424" diameter case
1.135" OAL

10mm
.400" diameter bullet
.425" diameter case
1.260" OAL

That is great. So I can have the big boy in the G20 15 rounds of 10mm but I really wanted a full size .40 cal 15 rounds in the G22 but why miss out on both when I can simply set it up either way. Economical if you ask me...

So when I put the .40 cal into the mag of the G20 can there be feeding trouble since the dimensions are off?
Yep, you can have your cake and eat it too.
On the bug question, you would feel the weight pending on how you carry it but you get used to it. I carry a G27 bug because that is my only option and it is not that big a deal. I would like to carry a light weight revolver though.

Just get a G20 and an aftermarket LWD 10-40 barrel. [You can either go with stock length or 6"]. .40 S&W shoots fine with G20 10mm magazines.
I have had the same success as tlen.......

I have a KKM conversion barrel that I bought from glockmeister and have had zero problems using my G20 mags. I have probably only fired about 500 rounds between 3-4 mags, but so far, no issues whatsoever.

10mm Sonny.... that is a great idea. Is that just plastic cut from an elecrical rough in box? If not, where do you find the plastic?

4" electrical box cover @ Lowe's for $1.12

I cut it diaginal to match the height of the G20 mag.
Ingenious......thanks. I have not needed a spacer, but nice to know there is a pretty quick fix if problems arise. Thanks!
10mm Sonny, did you use a G22 spring and follower in that G20 mag?

Yup...That was my plan but just needed it to be confirmed. Thanks...
What is the difference between the GLOCK G20 10M 15RD "FS" the FS means? vs. the GLOCK G20 10M 15RD "GNS" GNS means?

I appreciate the info you all have provided me.

FS = Fixed Sights
GNS = Glock Night Sights

Thank you.
