    Hello All, :wavey:

One of my friend is going to Austria for work related trip with his team, this weekend.

He was wondering if he can purchase a Glock from the Glock factory itself (or locally) and if it can be brought with him to US (he lives in VA). Also, is it possible for me to order one for myself? :embarassed:

Does anyone know the process(s) and if it can be done??

    Cheers:cheers:

Oh, I expect there's a way depending on how much time and money he has, but given the time frame involved, I think "Not going to happen either way." is the most accurate answer.

...he'll be there for about a month and money is not an issue for him to buy it.... unless the Glock costs way way more there than here in US?

He wants to buy it because to get an 'original Glock".

He should call the BATFE office and ask what it would take......import license/paperwork/fees/taxes etc.

customs is going to be hell. I live in South Florida and cannot even buy a grapefruit in the US virgin islands w/o an issue... You would have better luck trying to get a supercar imported from japan...

How would it be any different than US purchased glock, with the exception of the models that ocasionally have US produced frames?

You can buy one from out of the U.S., but it will take about a year and alot of paperwork to import it.

If you acquire a firearm overseas, you must apply to ATF for an import permit. THEN..... IF and/or When you get permission, you must import the firearm acquired abroad through a licensed gun dealer.

Origional Glock? There is nothing special about an austrian glock. They can be had here if you search for one made over there. It will still only be a $500.00 pistol regardless of when and where it came from. A specific model like the first generation 19 might be special or the 1,000,000 one produced.

He would be better off just enjoying his vacation or work related activity.

Forgive my ignorance but what would be the point in this? why would it be better than buying one here in the US? Is it to get an Austrian proofed glock because you can find them every now and then on the classifieds.
