Just west of Lone Pine, CA is an area called the Alabama Hills. It's a jumble of rocks that sits on the valley floor and takes up quite a large area. Because of the topography, many westerns were filmed there, as well as the orginal Gunga Din movie and Tremors, among others. It's a neat place to visit and drive around in.

This was a quick snapshot I took with my little Canon A95 set at its widest setting.
