Heres a different kind of shot from a Kalashnikov: the 82-proof variety.

That’s right, Mikhail Kalashnikov, inventor of the iconic AK-47 assault rifle, has lent his name to a brand of vodka. We don’t know what his licensing fee is, but Kalashnikov hopes that his favorite firewater will, uh, help advance world peace.

“I’ve always thought — and still think — that weapons should serve to promote peace between countries,” he says in a video posted on the Kalashnikov vodka website. “What I’m doing now is promoting this vodka, to strengthen peace and friendship between peoples.”

Yeah, I've been aware of it for about two years now, but have yet to find any available for purchase, even in Russia.

Been out for quite some time. First heard about it back in '99 and first time I actually saw it was around '03- '04. Haven't seen any since.

I've been to Russia and if Mr. AK's vodka is anything like I tried over there, it is best used for cleaning AK's, not drinking.

    Good point.

I've had some tasty Russian Vodkas, but they've each given me a headache the following morning.

A lot of vodka usually makes me want to punch people in the face, not befriend them.

    Annoying people, anyways.

My friend from Russia would LOVE that, but he had kidney failure and transplant so no more drinking for him.
