My compliments to the person who made the stock. Very nice! I recall my best friend's .22 Squires semi-auto rifle that he had converted into a mini M1, as well as his Llamma .22 pistol that he had a commander hammer and beavertail installed, as well as a mag well. We got a kick out of it whenever he brings it to the gun club.

Going back to his Squires rifle, it looked a lot like a carbine, except for the rear sight. The magazines were made to look like little M1 carbine magazines.

I think the rifle you have was manufactured for export. Seen a lot of Squires Bingham shotguns issued to security guards with an "Imported By" marking followed by the name of the importer.

A friend has an Anschutz 22lr rifle, while another had an Armscor. The one with the Anschutz ran out of match ammo and had to use Armscor ammo. He was beaten by the one who had an Armscor pistol. Funny thing is that when you feed the Armscor rifle with match ammo, it becomes more accurate. With Armscor ammo, it works just fine in the accuracy department.

That is one heck of a rifle! Congratulations! How imaginative! Who did it (especially the woodstock)?

Looks like you've got a very good gunsmith there, Melbu. Nice work ^c

May I ask how the rifle measures up in the reliability and accuracy departments? Do you plan on modifying the clip so that it is more "aesthetically pleasing"?

Thanks guys, my gunsmith Ka Oca made the woodstock and rebluing.

Mikey, i think its very reliable, i fired 300 rounds almost nonstop
and the gun did not jam. For accuracy, i zeroed the gun in a
25 meters indoor range and started shooting 25 centavo coins at about
23 meters, its very accurate (just dont know how it shoots outdoors
with wind and long distance factors).

I plan to put a shroud or mag well to hide the skinny mag inside.
But armscor told me they stopped producing the m1600 version
mags. All they have now are the ordinary skinny mags, i guess i'll
leave it as it is muna or until i find 3 extra m1600 mags.

    Hi Melbu,

My friend who had his Squires converted to a mini M1 just had the original mags "sleeved" or covered with sheet metal to look like the M1 mags.

"Squires Bingham" barrels are hard to come by. That would be a keeper.

    Thanks for the info, Melbu.

If you find any other boomers while you're cleaning the house, we don't mind taking them off your hands so you'll have more free space ;f

Very nice really. How much did it cost you for the total makeover of the rifle? It really is nice.
