In the past my defense loads were developed using 115gr. GDHP and 124gr. GDHP bullets on top of healthy doses of AA#7. However, AA#7 has become scarce in these parts, so I picked up some HS-6 instead. Does anyone have any favorite recipes using HS-6 under 115gr. and 124 gr. JHP's? I would like to know what exact load you are using but want you to know I will work up a load for my G19 accordingly. I have been reloading for over 30 years and understand how to develop a load. I promise I wont load up YOUR recipe and go to the range. Just looking for your success stories as a guide.

    Random case
    Random SP primer
    7.5grs. HS-6
    115/124gr. bullet
    1.150" OAL
    1225-1250fps

Acccurate and powerful, actual velocity will vary slightly depending on barrel length. A solid performer.

I have had good all around success with this load out of my G26/G19

Case - I use new cases for this round
Primer - Federal Small Pistol Primers #100
Bullet - 124g XTP JHP .355" dia. (Hornady)
    Powder - Hodgdon "HS6" @ 5.4g
Powder range - 5.1g up to 5.9g (Hornady)
    Powder burn rate - Hodgdon's chart - #42
    Velocity - 950 fps.
    Bullet seating OAL - 1.060"
Crimp - Light (1/2 turn on the crimpdie).

You're not going to bring down elephants with this load, but it will get the job done!
