Seems that there is more chance winning a Glock shooting a 17 or 19 than with my 34.
If I purchase a 19 at least I could use it for concealed carry, instead of the 34 which I carry now.
But how much harder would it be to shoot the 19 in the GSSF than the 17?
    I have previously owned a 26 and a 17, and now want either a 17, or 19.
I found the 26 much more dificult to shoot fast, and a pain to draw. I would not buy another one.
I also find the 34 a dream to shoot, more accurate, and quicker than the 17.

From my limtied experience and experiences from others on this board, Negligible.

Difference in recoil and bbl length is negligible. Everything else is just psychological.

I have won guns in GSSF using a G23 before. The 19 would be even better since it is in 9mm.

However, I have since switched to a G17 for GSSF. If your primary objective is to shoot competition, get the 17. If you want to carry it too, get the 19.

FWIW, my best GSSF scores have been with the G30.

Thank you gentlemen. Looks like it will be a 19. (I did try a 30 once, but didn't like the slower push of recoil, rather than a snap like the 9's and 40's, which I prefer. There seemed to be too much time recovering the sights).

19 will recover just a hair faster than the 17. Go to it!

Nope, but it was kind of in jest... I guess I forgot one of these - ;)

I don't doubt that it does indeed cycle a bit faster, but I don't shoot well enough to distinguish between a 30 and 17 either... but if someone can say, that 30 sure is slow compared to a 17 - maybe they can say the 19 IS just a bit faster!

    :)

It always depends if you have one match head or two inside the case.
