Hey guys! So I was doing some reading for ****s and giggles. Anyway, I noticed that the old Russian 7.62x23 round has a lot of similar dimensions to 9mm. Specifically, that the size of the brass at the base is the same size. I am curious if anyone has made or tried to modify either a G19 or some other Glock handgun to fire this caliber?

Dumb question - why would you want to do that?
I am not interested in doing it personally just wanting to figure out if you can do it.

As an aside there are at least two variations of that round that I am aware of. The first is the one some of you all cited which is the latter version with a longer FMJ bullet (7.62x25). The older and more directly derived version from the 7.62 Mauser is the 7.62x23 with a Jacketed Flat-nosed bullet. Which you can find listed in some old Bulgarian and other Soviet Block surplus stockpiles.
