Well, in a previous thread I asked about 3" compact .45s and ended up with a Colt Defender that I am very pleased with.

Now I have an itch for a similar 1911 in 9MM. My LGS has a Talo with XS sights (I don't like the trench sight on the standard New Agt), and an EMP. So, wich one would you get and why? One plus of the New Agt. would be use of the same holsters as the Defender, but I'm more interested in just how the two pistols shoot and carry, and of course, dependability. Thanks in advance.

I think Colt makes a Defender in 9mm.

True, but I haven't seen one at my LGS. I thought the Talo might be a little different and rarer. The Talo/Neew agent comes with thinner grips too.

I like the Agent grips too but not the trench sights, the was a gentleman at my LGS that had Novak's put on his Agent, he gave up on the trench sights

That's why I'm interested in the Talo/NA, it has XS big dot sight already and the front sight is tritium.

Other than some cosmetics (such as XS sight) and grip, the Talo is just a regular Colt without any additional gunsmithing. So, if you already liked the Colt before and now you want this Talo special, then go for it.

I have a Springfield EMP in .40, and while it's not a 9mm, I have had 0 issues with it. The first day I got it I ran ~450 rounds of Speer 165gr Gold Dots through it without fail. It has been very accurate and dead nuts reliable and has about 3k through it. The only flaw I found it that it shoots a little high at 25yds and the trigger is a little heavy at 6lbs. I would highly reccomend this pistol. My wife carries it every day.

Good choice. I own 4 Springfield 1911's because of their excellent customer service. You won't be disappointed. My only regret with my EMP is that I got .40 instead of 9mm

While my EMP 9 is not stock, I really like to CC it. It shoots lights out too.
