I had some 9mmP ammo laying around and since golf plans fell through, grabbed my 5906 and Arcus 94 and went shooting.
As an afterthought, I brought the .45 Colt Ruger for revolver presence.
    I just do that. :headscratch:

I shot at a local indoor range, different distances and rates of fire with the 9's. Ammo was Federal AE 147gr fmjfp and Garnet +p+ 115gr xtp- I was a little apprehensive about hot reloads from an obscure maker, and the xtp bullet was conspicuously seated long....but I'm happy to say both guns were fine with it.
With the Montado, I shot at 25yrds only, using 200gr Gold Dots in .45 Colt.
Both of the pistols managed some rather decent 25yrd groups, one with the 147gr, the other with the xtps. I found the single action trigger easier for fast shooting in the Bulgarian bhp clone vs the TDA Smith and Wesson, but at distance shooting at a steady or slower pace, I shot as well and sometimes better with the 5906. I averaged 3 something inch groups with the six shooter at 25yrds, the stainless fixed sights are a little trickier indoors

No issues with any of the guns, the Arcus was reluctant to extract a round when clearing the gun, I suspect the long oal of the +p+ xtps might have been right on the rifling leade. Aside from that, tatas!

Very nice. I haven’t shot my 5906 or 3913NL for many years. Perhaps I should take them out to the range, also.

I like it. I bought it from a friend who had experienced some issues with extraction and a brken trigger lever.
Trigger lever was replaced with a Browning/fn part, I removed a burr near the hook on the extractor and cleaned the channel- those two things helped extractor tension quite a bit- and it's ran great ever since.
Trigger is 'good' for these types, it has no mag disco and breaks consistently around 6lbs with smooth take up. Consistent is important to me more than anything, as IME bhp types can sometimes be very inconsistent with their triggers; once in a while you'll get a pull that feels4lbs heavier than anything previously, then back to normal.
It's a little particular with accuracy, many generic ball loads will be ho-hum, but typically it does especially well with hotter jhp loads.

Those are the two 3rd gen guns I have, both are great shooters, never an issue.

They look exactly like mine. My 5906 and (originally my wife’s) 3913NL also have Hogue grips.

I used to carry my 5906 during colder months and 3913 during summer in Milt Sparks Executive Companion before I switched to much lighter Glock 19 and Glock 26 s in the 90s... And yes, those S&W pistols are extremely reliable. I don’t remember if I have ever experienced any malfunction with mine.

When I get them out the safe, I’ll post a pic in this thread.

I have the opportunity to buy a LNIB 908S but I can’t generate enough interest in it. I want a 3913.

I've got a few. Unfortunately, my 1006 was stolen about 15 years ago.
