So I'm at the range doing some magazine testing and I have some 9mm and 40 S&W magazines loaded for my G23. I finish up one of the 40's, and change magazines. The first shot is a low 'pop', and no recoil to speak of.

I look at the gun thinking WTF? I drop the magazine and immediatly see the problem, 9mm in a 40. The following picture is what that brass fire formed into.

The pistol was not damaged, and I finished up the range session with no other malfunctions. Leason learned? PAY ATTENTION!

    Hmmm! Looks familiar!

    BTDT! (been there, etc.)

It had to happen to me when I was "showing off", demonstrating to a neighbor how easy it was to switch calibers inn my G22.:embarassed::faint:

Don't worry, I was showing my wife how I can switch from 357 to .40 and back, then threw in a mag and racked the slide, would not go into battery. I had a Federal HST .40 s&w trying to chamber into my 357 barrel. She just rolled her eyes and walked away:whistling: Glad the .40 won't go into battery into the 357 barrel!!!

I've got six barrels and 20+ mags covering three calibers
    for my G27.

I try to triple check ammo before I fire.
So far I haven't done it...

Of the six barrels, I've got three different lengths and finishes
so I can easily, visually see what caliber I'm using.

    But mags???
I try to look at the top round in the mag just before loading.

I'm dyslexic though and sooner or later ----- LOL!

(five barrels for my P220 45 are all .45)
