If I put a 9mm conversion barrel and extractor in a .40SW when I switch back to the .40 barrel do i have to switch the extractor back to .40 or will the 9mm extractor work

Why not save the headache and just leave the .40 extractor? I'd rather not be detail stripping my Glock at the range. Popping a barrel is quick.

    +1.
    I have a G27 with a 9mm conversion barrel.
Have shot a case of 9mm GDHP and Ranger Ts out of it flawlessly with the 40 extractor.

We don't need no stinking 9mm extractors!

The rim diameters are only about .030" different, half of that is .015" which the extractor should cover.

Where can you buy this conversion barrel? Not trying to derail the thread but since the barrel was brought up....

Have shot my .40s with LW conversion barrels in 9mm with and without changing hte extractors and ejectors. Worked either way.

If this was just for practice at the range I would leave the .40 parts in the gun. If using it for SD, I would use the 9mm parts.

Just my experience (and also noted on Lone Wolf's website--which wasn't there or I didn't see it when I originally purchased mine) but in my Gen 4 23 it choked up quite frequently (FTE.) The website recommends a 9mm extractor & 9mm recoil spring. I never had any issues when I used it in my Gen 3 23.

I shoot the LWD 40-9 conversion and the 357 Sig in my G23. Except for 9mm mags, no other mods. Great shooter in all three calibers.

This, in both my 22 and 23, have all the conversions for both.

If for carry, change recoil spring, extractor, and ejector for most effective performance.

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day

Great info stated.... Seems like this barrel mod is worth it, and little to no problems or malfunctions

Gen 3 G27 with Storm Lake 40-9mm barrel and G26 mags.
1000+ rounds of 9mm GDHP and Ranger Ts - flawless.

I use a conversion barrel in my Gen4 23 all the time. Also use the .357 OEM barrel -- both with no issues. Also use an Advantage Arms .22 kit with no problems.

And FWIW, my Gen3 23 was unreliable and I ended up selling it.

I shoot 9mm out of my G27 gen3 using a Lone Wolf conversion barrel and shoot 357sig using a Storm Lake barrel. Both work flawlessly with only a barrel change (& mag change for the 9mm). I kind of wish I'd spent a little more for the 357sig OEM Glock barrel for carrying purposes. I guess it's a "peace of mind" thing...

Have fired my G22 with the LWD 40-9 barrel. Did not change the spring or extractor and had 0 FTF's or FTE's. Just based on experience I don't see the point in changing the spring & extractor.

Left the .40 extractor in my g23. LWD 9mm barrel and Glock 9mm mags. About 700 9mm rounds through it so far, maybe 5 ejected strait back (good wake up bonk to the head). Problem seems to lessen as setup gets more use.

My suggestion, stick with the .40 ejector, although on a recent thread someone had a g23 that came with a 9mm ejector, and the consensus was to stay with it because it gave him no problems.

    Go shoot!
