Are 9 x 18 Makarovs available in the Philippines? From what I've read in the Makarov Club, they are relatively cheap and easy to maintain. Ammo and accessories are now abundant for this pistol.

The only local shop I saw selling Mak ammo is PBD.

9x19's however, are aplenty. They're much more powerful and with more variety in ammo and guns to choose from. For example, Norinco Tokarevs are built like wrenches and can be had for less than $200 (P9,500), 1911's for 15K, Tauri for 20K+, CZ's and clones for 30+, Beretta's for 40+, Sigs/Walthers and HK's from 50 to 100K.

    Mr isuzu,

I don't believe Maks are available in the Phils.

A Russian Mak was my first handgun many years ago.

I now have two Russian Maks and an East German.

While the East German has better finish, the trigger is rather heavy but manageable. The Russian Maks are more accurate, imho.

Thanks, guys. Can't own it here in Canada. They have a minimum size for pistols that you can own. You can't even own a Glock 19 here. ~sd It would be a nice back up housegun if it were available in the Philippines.
