We need more ammo prices threads
I spent $600 buying ammo at Academy yesterday. A customer told me they receive ammo on Tuesdays and Fridays here. Aquila brass 124 gr 9 mm was $13. I loaded up on ammo for the AR. 150 round boxes of AE green tip were $75. Winchester 5.56 FMJ was $75 for 200 rounds. A couple weeks ago Rural King had Tula steel case 9 mm for $7.50. Our local independent LGS is selling 9 mm FMJ for $18/50. Even though he sells pallets of ammo every day, I don't believe he has the contracts with ammo manufacturers that the national chains do.
Sportsman’s guide wants 400$ for 500 rounds on Winchester 9mm FMJ. 40$ for a box of 50 FMJ. Freaking nuts
Norman ok has no limit on 40
Anyone who can legally carry, should.
I am guessing that is a typo. Like what willie_pete said a 9mm reload is about a nickle (0.05 cents) to make.
I am soooo far past this craziness now....
At this point in time, I have been buying extra food every time I go to the store.
In 5-6 months, these same people will be complaining about the price of a can of beans.
For God's sake people... start thinking ahead.
Don't you see the writing on the wall?
Brownell's had 1000 rounds of Blazer Brass 124g for $260 earlier. They went out of stock in under 10 minutes. Bots have to be buying this stuff up.
People willingly paying the inflated prices are keeping it going. Just say no. I ordinarily shoot a couple thousand rounds a month, with all center-fire being my reloads. Due to scarcity of components, I've dialed way back. I'll sit on my last 20k rounds until prices normalize. In the meantime, I'll do more fishing, woodworking, and sporting clays shooting.
When President Harris is sworn in, that will be a cheap price.
Same here, although they restricted 500rd packs of 5.56 they got in to 1 each.
I went up to Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo today at lunch. I really like to go up there right now to do some people watching. They had a good bit of steel Wolf ammo in .223 and 9mm. Prices in the pictures. They also had Seller & Beloit 124g brass for $19.99 per box. This is considerably higher than what they have been selling for so looks like they are finally going up unfortunately.
I sat there and watched for about 45 minutes. Every single person that walked by and saw they had ammo looked. Almost everyone was like "Holy crap this is cheap" at .40/round. Limit of 10 or 500 rounds and I saw probably 10k rounds sold in less than an hour.
No limits on other ammo. They also had .45ACP steel Wolf in stock. I saw one guy walk by, yelled for his buddy to check this out, and they grabbed 10 500 cases of .45 steel. $1,899 + tax. About .40/round for it.
I then happen to be walking by and see they had a Taurus TX22 in stock so I bought it, haha.
Pretty stupid prices!
Of course I will not pay that, this is why you don't wait to buy ammo, always have to be full!
