She don't get out much. She has high praise for the diner/liquor store/gas station off of the highway with the simple, yet elegant name, Eats. Lol

~ “The chicken Alfredo,” she wrote, “was warm and comforting on a cold day. The portion was generous. My server was ready with Parmesan cheese.” ~

Nice! Good for her to get out a bit and enjoy...

When I feel the need for some frozen Italian food warmed up in an oven by a high school kid I have my daughter get the Stouffers lasagna out of the freezer

To be honest, a new restaurant is always a welcome addition in our towns. Grand Forks isn't as small and backwards as they make it out to be, but it isn't a huge metropolis like Minneapolis. And picking on an 85 year old lady who still gets out and finds things to enjoy about life is despicable behavior no matter what you think about the topic.

I have no problem whatsoever in going there for a few bread sticks, an iced tea and a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce. I'm sure there are many better places but I don't care to hunt them out when I just want something simple to eat.

    Best comment:
"So basically, a bunch of snarky pretentious a-holes want to feel cool so they are mocking a little old lady who enjoyed a meal at Olive Garden. Way to go, glad you guys get to be the cool kids who don't eat at Olive Garden. Yay for you."

"I really, really, really hate pretentious people. And I really, really adore little old ladies, and I think it's kind of cute and refreshing that a little old lady from North Dakota would really enjoy a night out at Olive Garden. Awesome."

I have never, nor will I ever, eaten at a Olive Garden. I despise chain restaurants.

There is nothing wrong with OG. I would never go so far as to call anything they make "authentic", but I live in Dallas where everything is already fake.
My 22mo kid likes himself some breaksticks, croutons, and pasta. There is no way I am going to take him to a fancy joint and want him wreck the place. OG fills this niche nicely.

She isn't the only one, they wouldn't be in every town in America if lots of people didn't like them.

Last time I went to Olive Garden was for a coworker's going away party. I had one bite of my entree and that's it. It did result in everybody's soft drinks being free as a

I was going to reply with something snarky, but there is no way I'm going to F with a guy who survived bubonic plague.

I read her review-what is so bad about it:dunno:
Seems like an honest opinion and fair review- she liked the food & service.
Pretty sad people are making fun of her.

I know many people that love that place.

    Me? Not so much.

    The bread is good, though.

That is not my intent with this thread, to ridicule an elderly lady.

I say good for her that she enjoys life at 85. Even a meal at Olive Garden.

I know mentioning Olive Garden will bring out the food critics. I have seen that before.

This thread is about the reaction to her admitting she enjoyed a meal at Olive Garden.

I love Olive Garden. The wife and I usually find one and eat there whenever we are out of town. Love the salad!
