Cool name, cool round.

And once Wolf starts making a caliber, you know it has arrived. Will be interesting to see what the price is.
Wolf has been selling 6.5 grendell ammo for several years.

But now others can make guns and ammo in the 6.5 grendell name without paying fees to Alexander arms.

This should increase the number of rifle and ammo manufactures for the round.

For those of you with experience with it, does it offer any appreciable advantage over the 260 Rem?
It offers no advatages over a 260 rem. It is sized for the AR platform and I doubt anyone would make it for a precision bolt gun. It is an interesting round and I believe with the right bullet can remain supersonic out to 1,000 yards, which wound be incredible considering it is a 123gr bullet startng at about 2,600fps.

It's comparing apples to smaller apples. The 6.5mm ballistics are hard to beat. The Sierra MK 107gr shines in the Grendel, at least in mine. Currently I shoot A-max 123 in both, 260rem and 6.5G.

The advantage of the Grendel is that you can shoot it in the Ar-15.
For the 260 rem you need an Ar-10. Size and weight matters almost always, especially in the field.
At reasonable range the 65 Grendel is a fine deer round.
