54Mbps?

    54 Mbps is what I'm connecting at on my in the middle of nowhere DSL on a wifi conection.... Is that decent?

    Yes. 802.11 currently maxes out at 54Mbps. Your DSL connection is most likely alot slower than that.

    54 meg.. That's what a 802.11g wireless router will connect to your wireless card as... or... in other words.. your local network is 54meg

    That's not the speed of your Internet connectivity by way of DSL to your modem.. it's more like 1.5meg..

    Unfortunately you never get close to that speed in reality... its just a marketing plow.

    Actually they told you the correct thing.. you are connected to your 54meg local network...
