I will be driving down to the Bay area to visit a buddy next week. I bought one of those 512 MB flash drives, I want to take "my favorites" and a few other files down with me. I copied my favorites folder to the flash drive. When I go to "my computer", open it, and click on the flash drive, it opens up and I can see the favorites folder there. I then click on the favorites folder and it opens up to show all of the files inside. I click on a file, and it opens to show the items inside. Whhen I click on one of the items inside a file, I get this message "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." I am running Windows 2000 on an AMD athalon 2400 XP MB with 1 gig of ram. When I put the flash drive in an older computer running 98SE, everything works fine and I can access my favorites from the flash drive. What do I need to change in Windows 2000 to get this to work?
