Has anyone tried one of Guncrafter Industires' new Glock 20 or 21 conversion units to 50AE yet?

Their claim is you can now have 44 magnum firepower in semi-auto. They have had a conversion out for a 1911 for sometime.

Thanks,

It's actually .50GI....and not at all comparable in power to 50AE.

Huh? :dunno:

I don't know who told you that, but you aren't getting 44mag power from the 50GI. The 44mag has about three times the power.
its actually pretty cool.no overkill .500 hollowpoint at 45 speeds.great self defience round

You lose a lot of mag capacity though.

From what Ive heard about the 50 GI, and that's not much, is that its basically just a bigger 45. About the same velocity and similar power, although I'm not sure about that, just a bigger bullet.

Yep.

Energy levels are very similar to 45ACP.

The 50GI has about a quarter of the power of the 50AE.

Seems like an expensive way to get 5 100ths of an inch. but that's just me.
It would be a very cool novelty item and you could brag to your friends you have a .50 cal Glock! If I ever get a G20 or G21 I will have to get the conversion kit.

The .50 GI is likely a good man stopper, big 50 cal slugs at 800 fps or so is enough to ruin anyones day. :dunno:
