Here's a 25 minute video that is very interesting. What do you guys think? Do you agree with this list? I think #5 (the first "Mistake" shown in the video) is interesting, because it makes you wonder what would have happened, or how different the world would be today, if China had discovered the Americas. Discuss.
cant watch here due to low signal, but unless the burning of the library of alexandria made the list i disagree with it.
What about the destruction of the Baghdad Library ("The House Of Wisdom")? Who knows what countless items humanity lost when it was destroyed by the Mongols.
Incredibly hard to narrow it down to 5 mistakes, in a history full of mistakes. The European powers arbitrary mapping out of countries, is the gift that keeps on giving............no mention of what they did in the mid-east to muck things up boundary wise.
Interesting list. All big mistakes. As with any subjective list though, I don't agree necessarily with all of it. However, a very good case was made for each. Thanks for posting.
Actually, there is strong evidence that Chinese sailors did come to America, as far as the Bahamas and all over South America as far back as 1421. https://books.google.com/books/abou...ver&source=kp_read_button#v=onepage&q&f=false Interesting book with lots of support for it's claims.
I hate watching videos... especially when clicking it supports liberal anti gun websites... cliff notes?
1) not annexing Mexico after the war. Great food, people, resources. Terrible government. 2) the GOP not running MLK for office. The entire racial outlook would be different. 3) the 17th amendment. The States lost their voice in the federal government. 4) Hitler invading Russia before signing a peace treaty with England. 5) Japan attacking Pearl Harbor, bringing America into WWII Just my two cents, but I didn’t have to watch the video. .
In 1968 Great Britain asked the Johnson Administration if they could borrow 600 million dollars to continue to administer Iraq. LBJ had us all tied up in Vietnam and turned them down, so the British pulled out. We spent a lot more than that (even adjusting for inflation) during the two Gulf Wars. In the overall historical scheme: not a biggie. But it would have saved the US billions and billions and saved a lot of our military lives.
