    Gentlefolk,

A few weeks ago I rented an FN 5.7 and found the range was running out of gnats from which I could shoot off wings.

My misgivings wth the 5.7 are obvious enough...anything designed to punch through a vest will probably just punch through the body to little effect - barring tumbling.

However, it could be a cracking fun round in a Glock especially since the FN is priced a little dearly for me.

Has any interrest been expressed in a 5.7 Glock?

It's a FN proprietary round which I'm sure you know. There isn't enough interest in the round for glock to make one. It would be pretty damn awesome though if they did.

I own a FN 5.7 and its definitely one of my favorite guns.

If you think that round does little damage you are highly mistaken. They make great self defense ammo. Check out elite ammunition. You tube some test on tissue. Very similar wound cavity as a 45.

With all that being said, no. I have never heard of anyone trying to get a 57 conversion and I don't even know if it would be feasible without a total slide replacement and the 22lr conversion are hard to get and expensive. I wouldn't want to convert my glocks to a high priced hard to find round.

I was actually thinking of a purpose-built 5.7, not a conversion. But if FN has that locked up, wouldn't be much of a point.

Still, if they did, the four people who would buy it would have a cracking good time.

They'd have to make an all new gun, including magazines, because the round is too long to fit in any Glock now made, and it would have to be very different from how Glocks are now designed.....I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for it.

    I can find 5.7 x 28 ammo cheaper than 40 and 45

I would love to see a 5.7 conversion

Sorry, but a 5.7 isn't going to permanently crush the amount of tissue a .45 JHP will. It just ain't. But it tumbles! Yeah, and how much penetration does THAT achieve?

It is not proprietary. FN makes the factory ammo though I think they license Federal or Fiocchi to make the SS197SR here. Elite Ammunition makes higher powered ammo, but there is no real competition to the factory target ammo. It would be nice if other manufacturers would give FN some competition, but that hasn't happened.
