I have heard that there has been a lot of problems when it comes to the new 4th generation Glocks shooting reloads due to the new recoil master spring system.

Does anyone know if any competition springs are available yet, or of a good way to lighten up the springs a small bit?

    TIA

There are no aftermarket springs available. I suggest getting 200 rounds of American Eagle 124-gr FMJ's for breaking in your new Gen4G17, and download your magazines to 10 rounds. After that, it will handle any ammo, even my light reloads.

If I had one of the new, stiffly-sprung Gen 4 G17's, I'd rack the slide about 500 times a night, every night for a week or so while watching TV. Seems to me that that would help.
