...for me. Seems like the Gen4 G21 has hit everything right. The slim sf frame, the improved-traction grip texture, larger mag release, the new recoil spring, and hopefully if the trend continues, the older slick black finish. I wouldn't change a thing, except the price of .45 caliber ammo...

My new gen 4 G23 is close, but it has the dull matte finish, and I don't like the cheap feeling grip panel I have to add to make it match the older gen 3 size, which has always been perfect for me.

My gen 3 9mm pistols are closer to perfection (including reliability here) than their gen 4 counterparts, and you don't really need the rougher texture grip on a 9mm.

The Gen4 G21 is not perfect for everything, as I can't conceal a gun that big, but for the range and home defense.... I say..."Perfection".

Couldn't agree more. Love my Gen4 21. It has performed flawlessly.

It is an excellent gun. My only concern with it is that if I had to fire it in doors, it would probably do some serious damage to my ear drums.

Try different pants, belt and holster compose. I'm 6'0 175lbs and conceal a glock 22 just fine.

I agree with the OP. 14 rounds of .45 ACP in a reliable gun with a decent, no-slip, good feeling grip for just about every hand size, and moderate recoil is pretty close to perfection. I think Glock got this one right.

It really is. I think it will bring the .45 back into the LEO discussions with its size and carrying capacity.

14 rounds of .45 in a great sized gun is hard to beat

I agree 100% Mine has been outstanding out of the box in all respects, although I'd have to say that my G26 and G34 (Gen4 models) are pretty close to the G21 in terms of everything working correctly from the start.

Really sad that I'm happy when things work as expected. It's almost to the point now that I expect new pistols to fail out of the gate. However, that hasn't been the case, and I'm hoping to keep getting the "good" ones.

Yup, G21 Gen4 is my favorite of all the new Gen4 models I have.

I've never really wanted to cary it concealed. I carried a G21sf around on the farm off-and on for several years, and its the weight and size that begin to get annoying. I have good holsters, but it is MUCH more comfortable to wear a G19/23 or G26 in a comparable holster than lugging the big G21 around. I'm 2 inches shorter than you and a bit lighter, and am not going to dress like a homeless baglady with 3 jackets on to conceal a full sized gun in town either. That's why I love the GLOCK subcompacts too. Different guns for different roles.

I think the Gen4 G21 is tied with the Gen4 G37 as being the best Glocks ever.

I agree, but in confined areas, the .40S&W, +p 9mm, or a shotgun aren't going to be much more quiet. I worry more about the 100 watt marshall that I play my Gibson SG through damaging my hearing than I do that slim possibility.

The Gen 3 texture didn't work well for me, at least on the 26.

Right now Im as happy as I could be with my SD line up, after going full circle trying other brands Glock keeps coming on top (for me). Whith the gen4 changes a great weapon out of the box became even a better value (for me), The G21 gen4 is a great combat weapon and if I had to rely only one handgun to protect me and my family it would be my G21 gen4.

I am going to have a very tough time NOT buying a Gen 4 G20 whenever it gets rolled out.

I think, admittedly intuitively, that the recoil system is spot on perfect for that round.

    Not to mention the grip.

Meaning, maybe the best is yet to come... :)
