Anyone got one? I have thought it would be cool to have a ported 6" barrel that is fitted for the 460 rowland to shoot out of a glock. I know you would need a beefier spring and guide rod also.

I have been looking at this caliber. As far as I know they don't make a conversion kit for any Glock! I am seriously considering buying a conversion kit for my Kimber or Colt Commander!
I think it will probably be the Commander as I don't feel like messing with the more expensive Kimber. This is a heck of a good round, near 44 magnum performance. :wow:

couldnt you but a nice quality .45 6" ported barrel and then have it fit for the 460 since the case it just a little bit longer?

    Just another ball of mud.
Clark specifically avoids making a Glock conversion. It's not like they wouldn't take the money if it could be done safely.

What getting a KKM barrel and having that extra 1/16th of an inch removed so it will chamber the rowland round properly?

You would have a bomb. SAAMI spec for the 460 is about 2x the 45acp.

Exactly! There is allot more involved than just getting the round to fit. The chamber pressure is considerably higher that a 45 ACP and there is an advanced compensator and much stronger springs. I would not mess around haphazardly or you might end up donating a couple fingers to the shooting god!

    That's not a good comparison, not even close. A 9mm+P has about 20 % higher pressure than a regular 9mm, if I recall correctly. A 460 Rowland has about 100 to 120 % higher pressure than a standard 45acp!!
    That's if you weren't kidding.

The reason I would recommend against trying it is that I have a longslide with 40 Super barrel fitted and the recoil with 40 Super and 20.4 oz (versus 16.8 oz standard G21 slide) is ferocious. With the 460 operating at higher pressure and ~ 20% greater power factor the slide velocity and felt recoil would be way up there with my heavier slide.

That would make sense to me. The 10mm is a fairly tough cartridge if you need more than that a 44 magnum hits much harder.

Ok thanks for the help i know the 10mm conversion is pretty simple. What do people think of the 40 super out of a G21?

    Not kidding.

    9mm+P 38000 SAAMI
    10mm 37500
    .45ACP 21000
    .460 Rowland 40000

and the .357 SIG at 40000, as well!

The Glock platform can and does easily handle 37500-40000 PSI (and the hottest 10mm loads are likely a bit higher pressure).....with brass designed for these higher pressures, and the proper choice in recoil spring, most anything (within limits) is possible.
