Nice pistol but I agree with thecableguy. For that kinda cash there are other 1911's I would want first.

Its pretty sharp but not enough for that price.

What is this "TOS" everyone on this site keeps referring to? :dunno:

A double-stack, gaping hole (mag well funnel) 10mm?

Has it become a popular chambering for the run-n-gun folks?

They are a sharp gun and put together very nicely, but worth nowhere near that! When I talked to them at SHOT, they said they were going to try to keep it under or atleast same price as comparable STI options. Well either they missed that mark bad, or the dealer is a rapist.

Anyone that knows anything about 1911s wouldn't pay half that amount. I can't tell from the pics, but does it come with a bottle of K-Y?

Yes it is. Another FUBAR 1911. DW should stick with what they do best and not go down the road so many others are. Their CBOB, VBOB and Ed Brown's KC are three of the finest looking 1911s made, in my opinion.

I'm in agreement that CZ/DW will not be getting my money for that pistol. BUT, just to keep things straight - the Elite series is not built/assembled in the DW fabrication plant. It is totally sub'd out to a few different places/smiths to complete. The series does not eat into DW's yearly fabrication numbers of their "mainline" pistols (Valor, VBOB, Guardian, CCO, Heritage etc etc). Without being a race gun type of shooter, that price kinda shocks me. I was expecting around $2,000 when they started talking about them, but at $4,000 I believe they've taken a very limited market and made it even smaller. Time will tell........

Ah, ha. So this is why my Google search only came up with things like "Terms Of Service" and the like.
