Unless you are lucky. Most G30 & G 36 do not like swc bullets.

So that'll put you somewhere between 800-850fps.But the g30 has a 3.77" barrel...
I agree, loading LSWC's for the G30/G36 platforms are not for the novice or even the experienced without a fair amount of time on your hands for experimentation.https://www.bnbcasting.com/200_RN_NLG_45_BULK_2050_ct/p1287789_13200581.aspx

Unique, w231, aa#5, wst, wsf, universal. Clays, red dot, rs comp, tg, vv320, 452aa (wst replaced it) there are probably one or two more.Might I ask which other ones you tested?
Exactly why you should reload, even if you only shoot 100rds a month. You can make what ever you wantI don't reload, but my love of the 45acp & 45Colt wheelgun, maybe what gets me started. I've yet to find an affordable and comfortable to shoot commercial (brass cased) load. Maybe I'm just recoil sensitive. Regardless, I have multiple 45ACP/LC da revolvers that I don't shoot as much as I'd like.
Watching this thread. And if anyone knows of a retail source for light loaded 45acp/lc ammo hit me up. I'm all ears.
Thanks,
GregB
The issue with swc is the shoulder, not the point or meplat.I loaded up about 700 of these Rainier 200gr flat-nosed bullets for target shooting and plinking last year. I used a bunch of different powders but all the rounds shot through my G36 worked without issue. In fact, until reading this thread I didn't know WC bullets gave problems in the G30 - 36. These aren't WC rounds but flat nosed and worked fine for me:

Like said most, for some people they will work, but for the majority they will not. I have owned 3 G30 models and non will feed SWC bulletsI loaded up about 700 of these Rainier 200gr flat-nosed bullets for target shooting and plinking last year. The shape of the swc has a lot to do with it too.Like said most, for some people they will work, but for the majority they will not. I have owned 3 G30 models and non will feed SWC bullets
Pretty much the whole ball of wax.The shape of the swc has a lot to do with it too.
Very true,my g37 likes the lyman 452460(200gr.) but will not run the rcbs 201gr. swc due to it's ever so slightly different shoulder. The shape of the swc has a lot to do with it too.
Yeah but it's TG!!!Clays barely makes Major PF (730 fps) with 230 gr bullets at max loadings.
My pair of Titegroup loadings with 200 gr RNFP bullets are both mild shooting, 4,0 gr of TG for 730 fps, and 4.8 gr for 840 fps....
The same velocities with HP38/WW231 (identical, same powder) were achieved with 5.0 gr and 5.7 gr, respectively, but the mild 231 loadings left both dirty cases and dirty pistols, although otherwise still fine.
Nobody will be able to say you are not thorough, thank you!Unique, w231, aa#5, wst, wsf, universal. Clays, red dot, rs comp, tg, vv320, 452aa (wst replaced it) there are probably one or two more.
Yeah, I've read enough about them I won't be ordering any...I agree, loading LSWC's for the G30/G36 platforms are not for the novice or even the experienced without a fair amount of time on your hands for experimentation.
i just picked up some .45 acp dies and am going to start reloading it too; of course i'm putting the cart before the horse as i don't have a G30 yet. at any rate, i'm a big fan of the summers hi-tek in 9mm and i'm assuming the .45 is just as nice. given the discussion here, i shouldn't bother with SWC, but go to the RN or RNFP offerings:Pretty much the whole ball of wax.
I would steer clear of SWC for the G30. I prefer the 230gr in RN profiles, but the 200's will work fine as well.i just picked up some .45 acp dies and am going to start reloading it too; of course i'm putting the cart before the horse as i don't have a G30 yet. at any rate, i'm a big fan of the summers hi-tek in 9mm and i'm assuming the .45 is just as nice. given the discussion here, i shouldn't bother with SWC, but go to the RN or RNFP offerings:

is this just a question of choosing between 200 and 233 grain? do they seat at similar depths or is that something to take into consideration?
