I have a G43 that I love, but the capacity is always a concern. This leads me to just carry my 19 much more frequently. The availability of aftermarket 15 rounders for the 43X has me considering buying a complete 43X frame to be able to put the 43 slide on. Has anybody done this and had good results?

I have done exactly that. Works just fine. I also did the Shield Arms metal mag release and use their 15 round mags and they all function just fine.

Depending on price, a whole gun might be the better way to go.

Right. I've seen the completed frames at $200 so that's why it's tempting.

My wife has a G43 and I bought myself a G48. Ended up swapping the slides so she now carries a "G43L" and I carry a G43X. They both shoot much better than a regular G43. I run Shield Arms mags in my 43X (and previously in the G48).

So yes, I would personally say buying a cheap 43X frame for your 43 slide would be a worthwhile investment.

Obligatory P365 (what I have) or Hellcat suggestion...

Now that that’s out of the way; I have a G43 too, great gun, shoots well, carries easy. Capacity is lacking.

You could carry with a stock mag and also carry a couple spare mags (spares w/extensions if they work in your gun and are well tested - I like the tango down +2 myself).

Another thing to consider is that Shield Arms is supposedly working their magic on the G43 mags. They’re pretty tight lipped about it, so we don’t yet know what capacity they’ll be. I believe they can make an 8 round flush fit, possibly a 9.

Never liked the fullsized Glocks, too big and bulky for me. I was torn between buying the 43 and the 43X. Then I saw the weight difference (without mag) was almost exactly the same...may as well have the option for more capacity, so I went with the 43X. Like the full grip better, too.
