Not for the end user/employee, but for the administrator of 401ks or some such that knows how the business model of 401ks work. Who has access to that corporate 401k account to make short term high interest loans and other such money making dealings? As we already know this is how financial institutions make money is by using our stored money for their business dealings, mainly if I'm not mistaken is primarily short term high interest loans to other corporations. More specific is does the company I work for have any access to this 401k account? Or is it only the 401k account holder/administrator/financial institution that has access?

Sounds like he thinks companies are taking 401k money to do business dealings. I assume this would be prohibited by law. My money is held by a separate company that invests it how I tell them to. A few different options.

My understanding is that the employer can only access any funds that THEY might have made ( matching, for instance ) to your 401k. Any of your funds should be untouchable.

My understanding is that your employer cannot touch your contributions. I'm pretty sure your employer can't touch their contributions to your 401K unless you terminate your employment before you become fully vested.
