Anyone use unique? I'm finding conflicting info between the layman man. And alliant data. Anybody have any recipes?

You didn't say what bullet you would be using, but, I got excellent accuracy with 155 Gr. lead RN and 165 Gr. lead FP and Unique. 6.0 Unique with 155 gr.
and 5.6 UNIQUE - 165 GR. LFP Penn cast both loads 1.35” OAL

I load 6.2gr. of Unique under a Zero 180gr. FMJ bullet loaded to 1.128" col. Also 5.1gr. under 180gr. cast TC.
Both give good accuracy. Alliant website shows 6.7 gr. of Unique as a maximun load with a 180gr. Speer Gold Dot.

5.4 Unique with a 180 cast bullet shoots great, is a good dupe for factory ammo, and is well below the max giving a bit of peace of mind.

My practice load is a 175grLRNFP o/ 5.4gr as well, extremely accurate in several guns. I also like 5.5gr under a 165gr plated. Either will go under 1 1/2" @ 50ft from my service pistols.

    I'm at 5.8 gr behind a 180 PD FMJ at 1.125.
    Coming out at 1000 FPS.

    I can't imagine doing 6.7 gr.

I've done some testing at 6.0 coming out at 1025.

    Tula primers,
    mixed brass
    5.7, 977 FPS
    5.8, 988 FPS
    5.9, 1019 FPS
    6.0, 1024 FPS

I settled at 5.8 because thats what Federal 180 gr. ball from walmart comes in at and I wanted a lil safety margin for shorter OAL's, unknown firings on brass, and i'm running them through a glock.

I think there is a Unique Users thread or something around here somewhere. You might find several loads there.

It probably should be a sticky as we have so many brilliant reloaders here with good taste in powders.

you will probably get higher velocities than mine due to your bbl length.
    Not a huge amount though.
