But nothing else in terms of hand gun ammo. I'm getting ready for the range this Saturday and after going to 3 shops it was the same story.
    No .45
    very little 9mm
boxes as far as the eye could see of .40.

I live in SoCal. Has anyone else had that same experience?

I think the caliber choices and availabilty will depend on the region and stores. Local Wal Mart has nothing, Scheels now has most everything but the price is up 15% and one of the salemen tried to blame it on manufacturers while a Big R down the street is 10% cheaper. Picked up some Federal XM40HB 155gr HP 40S&W ammo for $18 a box of 50.

Always plenty of .40 around, thats why I bought a 35 and P30 in Forty.

Outdoor Marksman was selling Federal AE 180 Gr for $219 a case last month.

Nation wide 40 is more available than the more popular calibers. ATK says things should be returned to normal in the next thirty six months.

That's what the person elected by the majority said about the economy.

Same here and I am in CA. .45 and .380 is the hardest to find, but most shops are stocked with .40 S&W...

Forty is aplenty here in North TX. No .45, some 9mm, some .357 Sig, but plenty of .40.

i saw it that way at cabelas too. Whole shelves of .40 s/w 180 grain fmjs all white box. There was some decent self defense rounds of 9/40/45 but not a lot of target ammo. There was even tons of .380 target ammo.
