I have a 9mm lower put together and was going to get a A2 9mm upper but am now thinking I'll go with a .40. Any idea what mags it takes and will they work in a 9mm mag block? My guess is Uzi mags with a different follower but can't find any info. thanks

i ask on 3 different web sites and got one answer, if anyone does a search i'm posting for their benifit. i was told only Colt and Oly. make .40 mags and Colt is LE only. i suspect this may not be 100% accurate since RR has to get mags somewhere but from th RR web site they only list a .40 mag with a complete rifle. as much as i wanted the .40 upper RR has i ordered a 9mm since mags looked like a problem area.

I converted an Uzi to 357 Sig and 40 S&W. The Uzi 45 ACP bolt with a 9mm extractor works 100% and for magazines I thought maybe the 41 Action Express magazines would be best and they didn't work 100% but 9mm Uzi magazines work 100% in 357 Sig and 40 S&W.

I wrote RRA asking about the mags for the LAR-40 because I did not see them listed on their site.
They wrote back that they were proprietary and not yet available.

    -rube

    from RRA...

"They are proprietary mags that we are not done making yet. We don't have a
cost on them yet and are not sure when they will be available it could be a
    couple months still.

Is there any manufacturer that makes a 45ACP upper? I ask because that would be the base platform for a 10mm upper, which I don't think anyone makes.

There have been 10mm uppers in the past and even 45 ACP uppers. The 45 ACP ones usually took 16 round Uzi magazines but some took grease gun magazines. The 10mm ones either used 9mm Uzi magazines or Danish Madsen magazines.
