What would actually make us think that a collection of lawyers and professional politicians can fix anything?

Three in 10 American voters (30 percent) are still delusional.

Tell China to go piss up a rope and start making stuff here again. Restore the middle class.

Well said. Also make it a crime to outsource American jobs.

When did the middle class leave, anyways??? As far as I can tell, the middle class is millions stronger than 50 and 100 years ago. And the "poor" are reduced by likely 80-90% versus 100 years ago.

Or do we not consider full bellies, flatscreen TV's, cell phones and cars indications of someone's "class"???

Oh, and making stuff here will guarantee one thing for sure.

    INFLATION!

You're talking 2x rise in prices over the time to move manf. back here. Maybe 4x. As long as you're OK with a $50K salary only buying $13-25K worth of stuff, I say we close the border right this very second.

As long as oil is still being sold around the world in USD... you'll be fine. Your 401k may tank every 7 & 20 years but you won't have to trade your daughters for livestock.

It's not a matter of if it will collapse, but when.

This, of course, is true of everything.
I'll tell you when I will get seriously worried.
When the money mongers figure out a way to reap enormous profits from financial collapse.
Until then I'm just t trying to keep it between the lines.

It's what those "4 out of 5 Worried U.S. Economy Could Collapse" folks would probably- and rightly- call an unsustainable fiscal policy.

How many adults truly believe, for instance, that they could spend their way out of debt??:faint:

I am always perplexed by this argument. That if we make everything here prices will skyrocket, inflation will be rampant. Oh No!
Have you ever thought that if everything was made here we would have full employment, which makes higher salaries due to employees having more options? So even if the price did rise, you would be making more money to pay for the increased prices.
It doesn't matter to me if a toaster doubles in price if my salary was decent working at a Whirlpool plant here in America. The toaster guy makes more, I make more, and I sell him a higher priced washing machine I made. It offsets.

If you think it will not work, look at history. We used to make stuff here, in 1950 we did not have rampant inflation. We made it here, we used it here. Everyone was employed. They had good salaries, really what difference did it make if the cost was slightly higher.
I would rather have a job and higher prices than low prices and no money.
The only benefit of outsourcing is to stock prices and Rich Americans. Problem is so much was outsourced it killed the goose. Nobody was left with jobs to buy those cheap Cars. Outsourcing to a point works, outsourcing every single item you consume is insanity.

Only in America can someone have:
    - one or more cars with $1,200 rims and a $800 stereo
    - one or more large HD TVs
    - the latest $400 cell phone with a data plan costing $60/month
    - Cable/Dish with all the extra packages
    - an mp3 player
    - all the food they need
    - a place with heat/water/sewer

And still be classified as poor, under class, below poverty level
