Looks like an IPSC competitor. He did the El prez and then some with only 2 points down.

Cop who foils bus robbery in Pasay gets promoted

A POLICEMAN who single-handedly foiled a bus robbery and killed two of four suspects in Pasay City has been rewarded with a promotion, a spokesman for the Philippine National Police announced.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Arturo Lomibao promoted Police Officer 2 Desililo Custodio to Police Officer 3, Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil said Wednesday.

From an official trip in the Caraga region, Lomibao went straight to the Mandaluyong City police station, where Custodio is assigned, to award the promotion, Bataoil said.

Custodio was riding a Saint Benedict bus plying the northbound lane along EDSA at 3:15 a.m. on the same day when the unidentified suspects declared a robbery, Bataoil said.

Custodio introduced himself immediately as a policeman but the knife-wielding robbers tried to fight him, forcing him to fire his gun, Bataoil said.

A suspect died on the spot and another was pronounced dead on arrival at the Philippine General Hospital.

Two suspects escaped through the windows of the bus, Bataoil said.

Police have launched a manhunt for the two suspects, one of whom suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach, he said.

    Bravo, PO2 Custodio!

    P.S.
I can understand a temptation to credit/associate every triumph
of combat shooting on the planet with the IPSC... but perhaps

    1. that situation was worlds apart from Cooper's El Presidente
    2. its happy resolution depended on skills gained elsewhere,

Then again, maybe Custodio does IPSC...

    Hi Bul :)

Your opinion is one I do value.
I apologize if you think I was mocking you.
    I wasn't at all!

I trust you'll consider that 'El Presidente'....and all of IPSC
might be far more than just a 'starting position' apart from what
    Officer Custodio encountered.

IPSC may also be worlds apart from how Custodio has/was actually trained.
Now, IPSC, IDPA, etc. are great; don't get me wrong.
There are however other, older devotions and regimens that
can produce good combat shooters --the sort of shooters that
predate all of today's competitive shooting sports.

Knowing that there were 4 targets engaged, and NOT knowing
their locations or the locations of any cover/innocents,
    nor even Custodio's actual shot-sequence/transitioning,
I thought any attribution to 'El Presidente' (or the IPSC)
    possibly-tenuous.

Opinion ko rin lang naman, e.
    Fish na tayo, please!
    :) :) :)

What we can all agree on are Officer Custodio's results!

Serves them right. Just kill 'em all if you have a chance, those people won't be missed.
